            Bill Prentice

Bill works as an independent consultant in the field of education.  He is presently working on a national and international review and evaluation of English Language Arts curricula and resources relative to Canada’s performance on OECD’s PISA (Programme for International Students Assessment) and on the IEA Secretariat (International Association for Evaluation of Educational Achievement) PIRLS (Progress in International Literacy Study).  He holds a B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan and a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta.

Previously, Bill was a language arts consultant with Ministry of Education in Saskatchewan, was a teacher, principal, and professor of Education in Manitoba and Saskatchewan and has served on several local, interprovincial, national, and international educational boards and committees. He has given numerous presentations provincially, nationally, and internationally.  He has written a number of articles on English Language Arts, reading, writing and evaluation as well as co-authored a book on teaching writing.
